Whew! Well, I’ve spent the last few days doing a bit of research on FATS and trying to cobble together the latest and greatest in order to write up what I wish to provide – a comprehensive (for the majority) approach to understanding FAT in order to better manage FAT.
Here is the ugly truth – to the extent we understand fat, fat cell behavior, hormone influence and the rest of the long list of fat influencers; there does not exist absolute knowledge enabling anyone to provide an EASY approach or even a comprehensive/standard approach to losing fat.
Apologies for the depressing introduction but just consider it sort of a disclaimer. I am simply saying that there is currently not a one-size-fits-all approach. The good news is that I can help you navigate the vast quantity of information available on fat and arm you with some not-so-common knowledge that has proven affective for others. It is knowledge that may help you avoid mistakes that lead to weight gain or impede weight loss.
Most of the advice today is standard. It works for many but not for all. It works for short term but not for the long haul.
Although personal training is called such because it is supposed to provide personalized exercise programming and nutritional protocols most trainers are applying a “standard” approach and many times this works, but sometimes it simply does not.
Standard is “eat less, move more.”
Standard is “eat six small meals a day.”
Standard is going to the gym a few days a week.
Standard is doing 30-60 minutes of cardio most days of the week.
There is nothing wrong with standard. In fact, by normal standards, this should keep one healthy and somewhat fit.
Unfortunately, the majority of our nation is not healthy and certainly not fit. So, engaging in standard efforts simply does not overcome what many (including myself) believe is a standard root of our modern problem: an overindulgence of high-calorie, high-sugar, high-fat foods combined with decrease in daily activity/exercise.
I may have just written a bunch of stuff you already know and don’t care to hear again. My bad!
There is hope! Otherwise, I’d find a new occupation.
The hope is in applying a few of the non-standard approaches to maximizing FAT loss and maximizing muscle gain.
What are these non-standard, atypical, best kept secrets to achieving what everyone desires?!
The hope lies in dissecting what we do know about human performance, human physiology and even the human psyche.
It is simply impossible to write one document that dissects those areas in breadth and depth that is beneficial to anyone in-particular. In fact, that’s called a stack of textbooks and a few years of advanced education (usually).
